for the time being, this can be the alternative to chatting since NBR is down.
So… how many 404’s have you guys gotten on NBR… LOL.
kool, i’ve been getting a lot of 404 on NBR that it’s just unbearable but i think NBR is back…for now
Anyone think this in any way related to the recent discussions box containing reported posts?
thats another bug.
it is probably a problem with some spiders/crawlers, as well as some other bugs… TechTarget is working on it now.
Yeah lately I’ve been getting quite alot of 404’s and delay, sometimes just randomly but like yesterday it was dead for quite a long time. Too bad cause it’s a really nice site.
404’s are gone, i think, but the site still seems slower to me…
does anyone have a gaming laptop for sale??
thanks
I am still getting 404’s….
Same here, still getting the 404…
yeah, just got yet another 404, such a shame and it’s getting more and more annoying, still great site though
Well, it’s not that often, but I’m still getting 404s
I think they just came back… I was running decent for a while, but they did give that explaination earlier.. Maybe it wasnt what they thought it was… Eeee I just 404′d LOL
im using chrome and it works perfectly
I do not think its that… I have IE, FF, Opera, Chrome…. all still has 404s.
Now even.
oh i thought u were talking about 404s in this website
E3 tomorrow!!!!!!! woohoo~~!!!
I got those 404s for at least 100 times in the past copule weeks.
Left4Dead2 coming out on this Nov.17~!!!
hello…
I don’t see the chat
or am I talking in the ‘chat room’?
this is the chat
I might have a flash/java IRC-based chatroom embedded in this page if you guys want.
Eh, I’m not sure how many people you have here, but that’d be something less confusing/easier to use than spamming your blog
Anyway, got a little question I’ve been looking for the bast 30mn… I have the NP5793, and want to try the dvi+audio > hdmi thing…
I searched through the nbr forum, I remember there were so many posts about it, but all I can find are only about dvi>hmdi cable, no audio included. I also remember a post of yours showcasing what you had in your laptop bag (a few differents cable to cover all your needs), but I couldn’t find it again (why did NBR removed their search?)
You still have some recommendations/links in mind to do so? I just found that http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=101&cp_id=10114&cs_id=1011403&p_id=5323&seq=1&format=3#specification , but it seems to use some CPU/GPU capabilities, and it’s running through USB…
Looks like my comments are going into spam… maybe because of a link in it?
I have to train my spam blocker…. I just approved your messages.
As for your question, there are a number of ways to go from DVI to HDMI (with audio):
1) Use a cheap DVI-HDMI adapter to stream the digital video, then get a cheap 3.5mm to stereo RCA cable to connect to your TV/receiver.
…. this will give you digital video with stereo sound for under $10.
2) (from #1) if you want 5.1 audio, then get a 3.5mm mono to RCA mono adapter and use any RCA cable to connect your notebook’s coaxial SPDIF to your TV/receiver’s.
…. still under $10 for this.
3) the most expensive and convenient way is to get one of these:
http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=208047492&listingid=36802857&dcaid=17902
http://sewelldirect.com/DVI-and-SPDIF-Audio-to-HDMI-Converter.asp
…. it will set you back around $50-60, but will have a seamless transition of digital video/audio from DVI to HDMI.
Love the comment on NBR being stable! You aren’t launching DDoS attacks on them to draw traffic to your site?
Little update, I bought the dvi > hdmi cable, and the quality is stunning!
I got the wrong audio cable though…
Thanks for the info Gophn
How can we pay you, for the Auctions?
paypal or something ?
According to what the auction says, Gophn only accepts Paypal.
In light of the possible Tetris tournament, I though I’d give Mario Tetris a practice go.

Nice Job man!!
Dude…. Wassssuupp!!! Nice site! I was waiting for ya to get this up and running.
Read your Internet Security article. HEHEEHHE Made me laugh cause I remember when you were starting on that… still have a copy of Version 1.2.
Hey… Question though… What do you think of AVG ever since 7? I dunno, they got a lil dumb and flakey… waht do you think? And wasn´t there a free version of Kaspersky or NOD 32? Can´t remember..
Anyhoot keep up the good work!
Oh and what do u think of Symantec´s TuneUp Utilities?
its paypal like said.
I do use “TuneUp Utilities 2009″ (much better than the Symantec one)…. not for tuning up though… mainly for the customization of Windows.
- like customizing your XP or Vista boot up loader screens.
Cookigaki thinks this site needs a forum.
I also use TuneUp Utilities 2009 and mostly for customization but it does have some nice features, probably one of the more useful programs out there.
Too bad the boot up screen loader on xp is in such low quality but still it’s nice to be able to customize it ;).
No updates, what happened?
hello Gophn, i need your assistance with the d900k, can you send me a pm or look up my post on laptopforums http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=5655884#post5655884
