Hey folks, just wanted you to know what I am up to.

I have in my possession two highly anticipated and demanded high-end Intel Core i7 Mobile notebooks.
Clevo W860CU (aka. Sager NP8690) …… new 15.6″ with mobile Core i7 and single Nvidia GTX 280M (standard MXM 3.0B)
Dell Precision M6500 ……. new 17″ with mobile Core i7 and single ATI FirePro  M7740 -or- Nvidia Quadro 2800M/3800M (Proprietary modules)

I will be doing my “ultra-detailed” review for each of them, as well as do a mini comparison for them. Also, I can even make service manuals for them since I took the time to document the fully disassemblies of the systems. :) Read the rest of this entry

Alienware’s “Allpowerful” notebook… not so new.

Did I call it or what !!! :D :P

Here are the pictures of the new “AllPowerful” Alienware, which is not new at all… in technology or innovations.

Its just a M17x refresh (by Quanta)… but it does have enough power now to go up against the big boys (Clevo, ASUS and Arima).

Too bad the ATI Crossfire compatibility did not pan out as well… or this thing would have been pretty sweet to support both dual videocard formats.

Now lets jut see how much this thing is going to cost with a dual videocard setup… I think you will see some price gouging happen with this exclusive system. ;)

What’s the best brand for notebooks/laptops?

Which brand has the best design and/or build quality?

Who really makes/manufactures the notebooks?

…. do these questions sound familiar?

In this day and age, notebooks (or laptops) have become more and more affordable, as well as needed for a technically mobile lifestyle.  People always want to know what notebook is best to buy, but they usually just buy notebooks improperly since (1) they really do not know anything except for the “brand name” and/or (2) they just buy something that a sales person suggests (most of which do not know their notebooks).

I would like to give you the one lecture to end them all to help inform you [the general consumer] about the secret about notebooks and who really makes them.
